The restaurant and it's owners, Sam and Sophie Rafidi also received letters
of congratulations from Yorba Linda Mayor Ken Ryan, Brea Mayor Bev Perry, and
Fullerton Mayor, Richard Jones, and other community leaders.

was given an Award from Travel-Watch for "Editor's Choice:
Best Italian Restaurant and Pizzeria in Placentia." |
| In 1981, Brooklyn Pizza Works and Italian Restaurant was discovered by a food critic for
the Orange County Register and was given the highly coveted "Best
Pizza in Orange County." |
| In 1982, Brooklyn Pizza Works was again selected for the "Best
Pizza in Orange County" award making it the ONLY Italian Restaurant and Pizzeria to
ever win the Best Pizza award twice. |
Over
the past 22 years, in spite of limited resources and some difficult times,
Brooklyn Pizza Works has sponsored youth sports teams and organizations, senior
groups, schools, churches, hospitals, and other needy organizations and
individuals and consequently has received an assortment of certificates of
appreciation, commendations, and acknowledgements.
